CPM, along with the Ernst Law Group, has filed a class action lawsuit against Chevron Corporation, Chevron U.S.A. Inc. and Chevron San Ardo Energy Company in San Luis Obispo County.  The class action was filed on behalf of California land owners who have been secretly deprived of royalties owed to them from the production of oil and gas on land leased to Chevron.  The Complaint alleges that for years Chevron has been underpaying California lease holders the royalties owed to them.  According to the Complaint, Chevron has fraudulently concealed the true value of what lease owners are owed through intentional mathematical miscalculations, collusion, and fraud.
