CPM’s Summer Law Clerk Program is designed to provide talented law school students the opportunity to work within our Burlingame, California law office for the summer. Candidates should possess strong writing and analytical skills. Prior law firm, court, or government experience is a plus, although it is not a prerequisite. As with attorney hires, CPM looks for summer clerks who are enthusiastic and dedicated to their chosen career in the law, and who show compassion and community involvement.

We review applications on a rolling basis starting in the fall and normally continuing into late-winter. We match summer clerks to practice groups within the firm. Each practice group works to integrate summer clerks into the team’s work over the summer. Clerks are provided a wide-range of assignments and experiences, including attending hearings and depositions.

In general, summer clerks start the Tuesday after Memorial Day and finish around mid-August. (We understand that some law schools have school calendars that may require a later start date.) Clerks are compensated at a competitive rate of $7500/month.
