The Board of Governors of the State Bar of California has appointed Nancy L. Fineman to a two-year term on the Board of Directors of the California Bar Foundation which will take effect on January 1, 2011. The California State Bar Foundation was founded in 1990 and is a nonprofit organization affiliated with the State Bar of California. It is dedicated to building a better justice system for all Californians. Through various forms of donations, the Foundation distributes grants to nonprofit organizations, courts, bar associations for law-related projects; awards scholarships to law school students committed to public service; runs a legal literacy program for high school students; promotes and encourages the philanthropic and charitable efforts of California lawyers; and supports an array of other education and outreach programs.
