The Consumer Attorneys of California Women's Caucus has honored Nancy Fineman as its 2012 Women Trial Lawyer of the Year.  This award is given annually to a woman trial lawyer who achieves a significant result in a case, and who demonstrates how the civil justice system works to provide justice to victims and changed behavior of defendants.

Fineman was selected for this honor for trying one of the few PSLRA (Private Securities Litigation Reform Act) cases to verdict.  The case arose from the fraudulent scheme of Homestore executives and others to intentionally overstate the revenues of the company.  Fineman represented CalSTRS, the California Teachers' pension plan and a class of Homestore investors.  The case resulted in over $125 million in settlements and judgment against the CEO.
