On June 17, 2020, CPM filed an antitrust class action complaint on behalf of consumers against telescope suppliers. Plaintiffs Sigurd Murphy and Keith Uehara allege that Synta Technology Corp. of Taiwan, SW Technology Corp., Celestron Acquisition, LLC, Sky-Watcher USA, and Ningbo Sunny Electronic Co. Ltd. (the latter of which supplies telescopes through Meade Instruments Corp.), among others, engaged in a price-fixing and market allocation conspiracy as well as monopoly conduct in the United States from January 1, 2005 through August 31, 2019.
If you purchased a new telescope manufactured by one of the aforementioned telescope suppliers during that time period and would like more information about the class action, please contact Adam Zapala (azapala@cpmlegal.com) or Elizabeth Castillo (ecastillo@cpmlegal.com).
