CPM Investigates Healthcare Fraud
CPM is investigating a complex web of medical billing fraud emanating from California, and spreading across the United States. The fraud involves overbilling by hospitals and other providers, and the payment of kickbacks--harming small businesses and injured workers. The billing is for unnecessary operations, fake products and durable medical equipment overcharges and violations of the low price laws. One such case was recently unsealed in Sacramento Superior Court. (State of California ex rel., Mark Sersansie et al. v. Garden Regional Hospital Medical Center et al.)
