Nirav Engineer is a true born and bred San Franciscan. He was raised by immigrant parents from India who came to the United States in 1978 and instilled in him the importance of hard work and education. In 1980, Nirav and his parents moved to South San Francisco. Both parents are retirees from Wells Fargo bank where they worked more than 30 years. His father was the manager of the ATM fraud department and his mother worked in the personnel department. Nirav was always interested in stories from his Dad about his investigating fraud. He began thinking as an investigator to figure out how the frauds his Dad encountered were being carried out. Nirav studied at San Francisco State University with a concentration in Computer Information Sciences. He began working at CPM in 1999 as an administrative assistant and when he finished school, was hired on as the Assistant Investigative Analyst.
Nirav took over the reins as Chief Investigative Analyst in 2008 from Don Thornton. Before that, Nirav worked as Don’s assistant. This experience taught Nirav the wealth of knowledge and experience that has made the firm’s investigative team what it is today.
Nirav and his staff incorporate the latest technology, increasing the team’s ability to investigate and taking the firm to the next level. With the firm for over two decades, Nirav uses a wide range of software including a Bloomberg terminal, Lexis and intricate Boolean searches on various search engines. He has also worked on very important investigations in Silicon Valley.
Nirav and his wife are avid world travelers and enjoy eating at new restaurants.
