Michael’s practice focuses on federal class action antitrust litigation involving mass market products and services, hundreds of millions of consumers, and tens of billions of dollars in commerce. Michael represents both direct purchaser plaintiffs and indirect purchaser plaintiffs. Representative matters include In re Qualcomm Antitrust Litigation (monopoly), In re Domestic Airline Travel Antitrust Litigation (cartel), and In re Cathode Ray Tube Antitrust Litigation (cartel). Michael also represents whistleblowers in antifraud qui tam cases and public entities in the national prescription opioid litigation.
Litigating in federal and state court since 2018, Michael has written numerous district court and appellate court briefs, argued dispositive motions, taken and defended many depositions, managed complex discovery, and participated in high stakes mediation. Bringing seven years of business and public policy experience to the practice of law, Michael takes an active role in strategy development and team management across his cases. To date, his cases have secured over $67M in recoveries for his clients.
Before joining CPM, Michael was a startup attorney, executive, and advisor focused on legal software and civic technology. During law school, Michael was an executive board member of the Stanford Law Review and founded the Voting Rights Project at Stanford Law School. Michael’s scholarship in the fields of statutory interpretation and the legislative process has been published in the Stanford Law Review.
