Whistleblower Protection

Just as employees who report violations of local, state or federal law are often legally protected, workers may also receive governmental rewards for informing the government of employer malfeasance. These incentives can be substantial, and federal agencies in particular are currently prioritizing the distribution of such bounties in order to attract whistleblowers to help them enforce the law. There are numerous federal and state programs that apply to employee whistleblowers, and the extent of the incentives and protections available under each varies greatly. For overviews of the major federal whistleblower programs, visit CPM’s Whistleblower Practice page, and feel free to contact a CPM whistleblower attorney for additional information.
