Son-Lam “Sonny” Hoang is an Associate at Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy, LLP, practicing in a wide range of civil litigation areas including environmental law, class actions, personal injury, wrongful death, and consumer fraud.

Mr. Hoang received his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. While at Hastings, he participated in the Start Up: Biotechnology Clinic and served as Ambercycle, Inc.’s legal counsel, securing the company’s intellectual property and meeting with Angel Investors and Venture Capital firms to secure funding. He also worked under the Oakland Raiders’ general counsel litigating player grievances including a concussion case. He also worked for the non-profit Brightline Defense Project which advocated for local labor unions in conjunction with the Golden State Warriors to get Assembly Bill 1273 approved in the California State Legislature which permitted the Warriors’ Arena Project in San Francisco.

Before law school, Mr. Hoang received his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from the University of California at Santa Barbara where he helped raise over $70,000 for the Muscular Sclerosis Society.

Prior to joining Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy, LLP, Mr. Hoang worked at Scott Cole & Associates, APC where he focused on plaintiff’s side class action employment and consumer protection cases. Before that, he worked for Nakamoto & Chou, LLP as a workers’ compensation defense attorney.
