Abigail D. Blodgett is an Associate at Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy, LLP where she focuses on class actions, mass torts, personal injury claims, consumer rights, and environmental law. Prior to joining Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy, LLP, Ms. Blodgett practiced law in San Francisco where she represented nonprofit organizations in environmental enforcement matters and plaintiffs in consumer class actions.
Ms. Blodgett earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Oregon School of Law, as well as Certificates of Specialization in Environmental Law and Public Interest Law. During law school, Ms. Blodgett was a Sustainable Land Use Fellow, an editor for the Oregon Law Review, a volunteer mediator for small claims cases, and an extern for the Honorable Karsten H. Rasmussen, the presiding judge for the Lane County Circuit Court. Ms. Blodgett also won first place in the Milani Disability Law Writing Competition for Appellate Briefs and published an article regarding land use in the Journal of Environmental Law and Litigation.
Prior to law school, Ms. Blodgett received Bachelor of Arts degrees in Environmental Studies and Political Science from Guilford College. Upon graduation, she received the highest honors from both departments, the Zvi Cohen Memorial Environmental Award and the Political Science Senior Excellence Award. Ms. Blodgett also spent one of her summers studying environmental justice in Louisiana with the National Science Foundation.
